Jobs!
Okay. I worked for 18 years as a teacher in the same school and then did some supply work before leaving the UK.
Now I'm stuck looking for a job and I'm not sure how to go about it. I have looked on the gov'ment websites and Catholic education websites and I can't find anything. I have looked in the Courier Mail at Saturdays jobs too.
How do I find a job inside or outside of teaching? Should I go to a job recruitment agency? Do I just keep trawling the internet and hope something pops up?
ANY advice would be appreciated.

Hi Rebecca, I'm having the same trouble looking for teaching work in the Sunshine Coast. There is a website where you can register your details for casual/supply work - www.tracer.qld.edu.au(you can choose which schools to have on your list and what stage you would prefer to teach. I have also registered on the catholic teacher's website www.catholicjobsonline.net.au As well as this I have left my reume in some local schools. Unfortunately, I have still to have any joy getting teaching work and the school holidays are now beginning!! This info may only help you if you are in/heading to Queensland. If anyone else has any other info it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rebecca, just noticed your originally from Rochdale, I am from Oldham myself so we were not far from each other. I worked as a teacher in a Rochdale primary school for 5 years but since coming out here (now living on the sunshine coast) 3 months ago I have been looking for teachers aide work or similar as I am happy to relax a little and make the most of our new life. Finding it very difficult however but I am sure something will come up soon even if I have a complete career change. Cant suggest much more than other posters have suggested really although I have found it useful going onto private school websites some of which only list their jobs privately online. Good luck emma

Thanks all for the help. I'll get onto those websites as soon as poss.
I'm in North Lakes area so it looks as if we're all looking for the same jobs in the same area! I registered with QCT and put my details on the catholic jobs website, but the holidays are approaching so not likely to be much coming from there.
I appear to be going through my meagre savings at an alarming rate and as there's only me I think an out of teaching job may be the best option.
Where abouts are you on the Sunshine Coast Denise and Em?

Blue card? I have to have a blue card. I asked someone about that and they said that as I had passed the QCT check I wouldn't need one! Oh blimey! How do I go about getting one of those then?
