      Getting married inbetween visa application??

      Hi there!

I am getting married Sept 08 and i'm keen to start my visa application a few months before, but i'm worried changing my surname half way through might complicate things and my visa take forever!

I'm a nurse so will be applying to the ANMC first off as part of my skills assessment and ive heard this can take up to 3 months. Then i would start the visa part so you can see why im keen to get started sooner!

has anyone got any experience of this or know anyone that has?

All replies and comments would be hugely appreciated.

I will be applying for the independent skilled visa think its 137!

      Thank you,

      Charly x

      Hi,

As Kia1 said, there is a place on the form for the intended wedding date. Once you do actually get married, you can sent them a Change of Circumstances form, available on the immi website. We did this as got engaged after we put in our application. They have achknowledged receipt of it and all our C/O has asked for has been meds, so I assume that there is no issue with it.
I expect to get my visa before I change my name and do wonder though if I need to go back to Australia House to get my new passport stamped.

If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place...
If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy they just said it would be worth it...
