Huntersmummy
Oh shi.....take mushrooms! I need help....someone out there MUST be in the same boat!?? I got an email from our immigration to say my medical has been deferred due to my $%&%&£$%@!:@ "deep breath" rheumatoid arthritis and they need a report to say "Im ok" "What dosage of meds I'm ok" "Am I going to need a hip replacement in 5-10 years" (I bloody hope not!!) Only thing is, the immigration company won't (Cant??!!) ask for the report and my consultant won't send the report to them! I don't know what to do? Who to call? Ghostbusters!? If anyone has had a letter from Bupa fro ma medical officer??? I feel as useless as a cat flap in a submarine!! Thank you
Gbye grey sky
No expert at all but can't you ask the Consultant to send the report to you and then you pass it on?
Pinkestlady
Or, if the consultant is refusing to send the details, can you get a private second opinion for the purpose of reassuring immigration?
Metoo
Ask your gp for help. Gp can ask consultant for report. My consultant sends a copy of all my reports to both my gp and myself. Try not to panic, im sure you will be ok. A few members on here with RA. Good luck

Thank you Sorry to hear that, it was bound to happen as a lot of medicals are referred even for minor conditions. Good news, most do pass the referral, so deep breath.. I don't understand quite what you mean about the migration agent asking for a report though? Who won't they ask, your doctor? Not a problem, you should be asking for it. Once it is prepared, you could give permission for them to send it to the agent, or they give it to you and you pass it on. Has this been ruled out for some reason? In which case what does your migration agent suggest, they should be helping you over this hurdle.

And if the agent won't work with you, sack them and send it to Immi yourself. What do they think you are paying them for?
Huntersmummy
You'd think £10,000 would get them to sort it out but obviously, its not quite enough money! xx
ali
It's probably to do with release of information - your agent doesn't have any legal right to ask about medical information about you. I would either ask your specialist to provide a letter that covers your condition, treatment and prognosis over the next 10 years (and that you won't need a hip replacement) and that your condition doesn't hinder your capacity to work ... or as someone has suggested see someone privately to get an up to date report.
