Avon for mossie repelent

I would like to share this great tip for keeping the mossies away :(

While on holiday in the Carribian many years ago I was completly left alone by mossies. Every night I used Skin So Soft body oil from Avon after showering. Reading the usual tourist bumpf in the hotel lobby they recomended the same thing. Scince then I have used the body oil on every holiday and have kept the mossies at bay :D .
I used it in Perth last christmas and it did the job there. Dont know if Avon opperates in Oz but its worth finding out. Ill be taking plenty with me when we eventually go

Thanks for the tip. How big a problem are the flies?

I lived in country NSW recently (for about 5 years). I can't say exactly what its like in Canberra but flies in the country areas are a problem. You learn to live with them & where possible avoid them. To give you an example of what they're like - you end up looking forward to after dark when they disappear & the emergence of mozzies don't seem such a bad option after all. They weren't a problem in either Sydney or Brisbane (no idea why?) so it's possible that Canberra isn't so bad?
