ali Posted August 15, 2006 Share Posted August 15, 2006 I'd emailed Tim on a totally unrelated issue, but gave him compliments on the site and thought that I should really put them on here - So - I really like this site because: There's no back biting or bitching, I haven't met any 'know it alls' who remind me of the Harry Enfield character who says " You don't wanna do it like that..." Members are genuinely very friendly and helpful and when I was waiting for my visa, I got so much support at a time when I couldn't really discuss it with friends and family who were secretly hoping we'd get turned down or that we'd call the whole thing off. I wish I had a pound for every person whose told me I can alway come back if I don't like it. I've made some lovely friends I now correspond with regularly and wouldn't have met (so to speak) otherwise. Everyone is so friendly and it doesn't seem to matter how small or silly a question is, people post it and get so many replies. The people were great and helped a lot, but over time it just seems to have lost it's humour. Some people seem to feel that they can't express their opinion if it doesn't match with what the majority believe. The moderators move or delete posts as they see fit, and it all seems to be a bit sad. I'm not criticising the site, it's just I don't find it fun anymore. But this!! This is summink else! It's FUN! I log on just to have a bit of a laugh...and avoid cooking the tea of course:yes:. I love you all*.....:notworthy: LC *Hands up anyone that is now feeling sick...
