Australia has a lot of part time, casual jobs held by people who want full time employment. The cost of rentals dictates that a certain income is needed to rent so its not easy in the job market if people's skills are not needed.
I know a lot of people wonder why we keep importing people. They would prefer the young to have a go and more training given. Unemployment and under employment affects so many families its bound to sway people's thoughts on migration.

It depends a lot on what you do. Some industries are struggling. For example, Perth technically has very low unemployment, but Kwinana which the residents traditionally work in the manufacturing / industrial sector has 10% unemployment. Building trades are also suffering.

My hubby is an electrician with 29 years experience in UK and ran his own business but he can't find anyone to employ him here while he gets his A Grade licence ! Xx we might have to go home if he doesn't find work soon !!

I was made redundant in 2009, middle of the GFC, and I had another job within a month. Got the old phone book out and started calling. It's attitude. Maybe it's because I've worked contract most of my life, and I'm constantly looking for work even when I'm working. But you can always get a job if you really want one.
I see, you can always get a job if you want one.....can you please tell us the last time you looked for a job in the UK...this should be intresting.
Making you think outside of the box since 1999.
