A Crazy Idea - need advice

Well, you won't believe it! We're in a dilemma again.
Me and Paul aren't particularly happy living in Bournemouth and being in the UK in general. The only thing keeping me going is uni and Paul's on the verge of becoming depressed because he's not doing anything he likes and nor am i except starting uni in Sept. Paul's come into some money and has thrown an idea at me, about taking off for aus and travelling/working again possibly within the next month or 2. I'm in a bit of a pickle because of uni, at the same time I'd love to do because we might not have any money to do it again, and I could go to uni in aus in a few years time, or go to uni now, but we're struggling financially as it is let alone when I start. Do you think we're crazy? I think my sensible head is saying to go to uni but my hearts saying it would be amazing to travel and work round aus and this time with a wiser head (not let farm work put me off). And once we're satisfied with travelling we can settle down in aus and then I could study. Of course I'd go over on a tourist visa and then apply for a partner visa once we've met the one year requirement (which isn't long now). what do you guys think???

you only live once Stacy, whilst you have no responsibilities I would grab the opportunity by its bits and get yourself off travelling. If you needed to do the nursing course for a visa, then that is a different matter, the pair of you should get off on an adventure and maybe defer for a year here if necessary as a back up for next year. Like you say you could always study in Oz in the future xx

Well it sounds like the only thing keeping you here is your Uni Course. I would go, then you would both be happy. Do your travelling and working then when you both got PR you can always do nursing in Oz. Thats where you would be working so why not train there. Have another couple of years fun while you still young.

I am going to agree with the others. You only live once! If you are both miserable in the UK why stay? Like others have said you can study in Australia in years to come there is no rush to get a degree, live a little and career after. I went to University when I was 18 only to quit a year and a half later because the course wasn't for me, and then when I was 23 decided to give it another go via distance learning and I receive my degree next month. Education can wait, and if you like the idea of travelling and settling down in Oz then go for it!

I think you should take this opportunity and go for Oz.

Worse case scenario could you defer for a year? See how you guys are doing in a year?

I'm applying this year, for a possible start date in Sept 2013 but likely will defer due to childcare costs so am looking at 2014. Unless we get to Oz in which case i would love to start as soon as poss out there as we should be financially better off.

Also purely selfish side, i wana see more pics of Oz!

me and paul are not happy in bournemouth and the uk either, we are heading out next year, we have kids in tow, if i was in your shoes i would be on a plane tomorrow, education can wait, people go back to school much later in life, however the time to travel is now while you are young and commitment free ... GO FOR IT you will love it

Doesn't sound crazy to me, your only young, before you know it, you will have had 5 kids, everything will be drooping,stretch marks everywhere, wrinkles and yer teeth will have fallen out and paul will be as bald as badgers bum, with a huge beer gut, so ...... Yer young and adventurous what do you really want to do........ ?

You are still young enough to do it.......so just do it. I remember when you first joined here and wanted to get to Aus so much. I was surprised when I heard you were coming back so soon.

Get over there where you will both probably be happier
