Is moving to Aus a good idea for me?
Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read my post.
I have been lucky enough to visit my family in Sydney a few times over the years and enjoyed it immensely. I now find myself considering whether or not I should stay in the UK and hopefully find a job after four years out or move to Australia in search of a new life and hopefully better prospects.
I have recently turned 30 and don’t have any family or financial commitments to speak of. For the last four years I have been a full time carer to my mum. However, she is now in a position where she can manage with some daily support and we have both agreed that ‘Australia’ option is something that should be given some serious thought.
Prior to becoming a carer, I worked in Human Resources and Training and this was something I really enjoyed doing. Following a tentative look at the availability of jobs in this sector, I saw that the WA Government had availability to sponsor applications in this sector. I do have family in Sydney; however I really don’t mind where I base myself, as long as I can find work in my field.
Since I gave up my job, I have completed a Postgraduate business degree in an effort to keep my skills up. One option I have consisted is a working holiday visa, as I am still eligible to apply, however I am really not sure what to do for the best, any thoughts, advice or guidance would be most welcome.

I would get in touch with a migration agent to see how u stand on the job front and best visa if your eligible then once you know if it's an option you can decide if it's worth it. The biggest reason for people not settling in oz seems to be the pull of family and friends and after caring for your mum for so long I would considered how you'd feel about leaving her. It's a huge decision and a very exciting one and you have no financial ties which makes it easier but it's very expensive aswell so that's something else to consider. Good luck with your decision :)

You only get one life, if you've got mums blessing, what have you got to loose? It's a big decision but do you want to be a 'what if' kind of person when it's too late or a 'better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all'.
Working holiday visa are only available up to the age of 30, so time is of the essence in that respect, but I do agree that a trial may be best if yo've spent a lot of time out of the job market and as a full time carer.
Good luck
