Is there a reason why you have started this thread in the New Zealand section, please? If you would like it moved to another section, please say.

Hi Gill,
Reason for posting in "other country" forum, is to gain a wider picture of the problem.
John mason claim that their staff are honest and trustworthy and suggest mildly that either Sydney customs "may have kept the missing items" - yeah sure, sacked if caught watched on CCTV... OR that I may havel eft them in the UK OR I may be making a false claim...in somany words.
I have no doubt that Jack and Jill will come back and say "JM are grear we had no trouble and they even made a brew for us." Jim & Gertie will reply to say they lost everything including the kitchen sink".
BUT as you know, gathering a wide range of experinces helps to get a clear the picture.
Fact is we were originally with Crown, but a good mention on here and the fact that they were £500 less than Crown.. made us change shipper.
Most people just give up and accept it as part of the deal.
Quite simply we allowed two strangers employed by John Mason into our home to pack it up for shipping. It was impossible to watch every move..and why should we have to? - but at the end of their two day session...we were left with everything we wanted in Aussie NOT in the house and loaded onto a John Mason van.
I have photo's of every room, not for proof of them taking stuff, but showing teh stuff we sold to the house buyer as proof it was left in the house. ( they had tried many ways to shyster us and I expected a claim that we had not left in situ what had been agreed. The point is ...we checked everything after the packers asked us too.
IF, JM had simply said ..sorry we have no explanation- however you are insured... I could have been more on their side..having been an employer who employed a thieving sod. But did not know it till she decamped! These things haoppen.
JM staff added deep insult to injury by the ridiculous suggestions.
Our stuff went on their van.... it did not arrive in Australia. Between the two it was in the care and contracted control of John Mason International movers.
Apart from the other good stuff missing..is a panoramic photo..framed, of The Louvre Paris. We were their in 1997...just about 7 days before the Diana thing!
The frame was nothing special and in fact far better frames - all packed by the gruesom twosom - arrived safe! It defies logic..but its still missing!
So, my idea is to create a website on which the events involving our stuff and the "aftersales " service via the insurance - who I suspect will really expect me to have reciepts for stuff I bought at a craft fair 10 years ago!
By gathering information if other victimes will contibute... will show a pattern.
If JM like to comment fine, I cannot believe we are their only customers to have lost things...and if thats the case, they should be investigationg why customers property is missing.
And I also think that where others accept and move on, it helps to hide the problem. bring it out into th eopen and after a few punters dont book because XXXXX movers - who show has having a lot of losses... then maybe theft from shipments will be removed from the already stressful process of moving your home and your life across the world.
I respectfuly request that PIO understand the greater picture and understand my long term motive - and allow the posts to be seen by those looking at a new life in places other than Australia.
TIA..
