Duty Free

I heard a while back of someone who brought duty free alcohol only to have it confiscated at Auckland airport before travelling on a domestic flight to Christchurch because it was over 100ml and you can't carry over that amount of the plane.

Anyone know if this is true? No point in buying anything when we go for our reccie in June if it will be taken off us.

I am interested to find this out too as I fly on Monday to the UK and wanted to bring Mum a bottle of Cognac over, somebody at work told me that the duty free shop can send it on the flight for you, but does anyone know for sure?

Hmmm. Thought I had something wrong there so e-mailed an on line duty free shop. There is no 100ml restriction on domestic flights.

Possibly then it was someone buying duty free in Oz had it confiscated by the NZ airline on the way home? Hopefully it's a rule that's sorted now, as I think the incident was pretty soon after the introduction of these rules.
