now that I live by the beach, I fancy doing a spot of fishing..
Where will i find rules / regulations etc about fishing / permits etc? I notice on bridges its the RTA that puts up the No Fishing signs..
Anyone know the go for sydney / north shore beaches?

You can download the regs and get a licence here: Recreational fishing rules and regulations | NSW Department of Primary Industries
The regs are different in each state so be sure to clue yourself up if you plan to fish on a holiday to another state.
Having never required a lcience in Qld, I got nabbed by NSW fisheries for a licence when I crossed the border. I was offshore fishing on the drift and didn't even realise I was in NSW

Nah. They let me off...........saw that the rego on the boat was Qld and said that it happens often so they make exceptions in open water. If you're caught on the shore though, they come down heavily.

People fishing off bridges are a Hazard for other users of the bridge and for those who pass underneath in boats.
