Help wanted on suburbs
We've now got a job offer and are now wondering on places to live, We have 3 children 8,3 and 2 so am looking at somewhere family friendly and with good schools also within a 45-60 minute commute to Wentworthville as that's where the job is based. I know that there is a book for melbourne that you can download, is there anything similar for Sydney. Any help would be much appericated. I'm sure that this will be just one of many questions
Thanks
Sue

The Hills District would be the best place to live that is close to Wentworthville.

it all depends on how much you have for rent .

Just moved to the Hills District its a really nice place, lots of schools and parks to take the kids to.

I'll have a look at the Hills, we have around $1000 a month on rent.

Hi there Sue and Dave,
Considering that Wentworthville is on the Great Western Highway you have a pretty big choice when it comes to rentals within an hours commute, in fact if your prepared to travel for that length of time you could pretty much live anywhere in Sydney! But i am sorry to say that a $1000 a month is not going to get you much this close to Parramatta, which is basically Wentworthville. I very much doubt your going to get a three bed house in a reasonable area for that price. I have just done a quick search in Carlingford for you and you will be lucky to get something reasonable for under $400 a week, having this sort of constraint on your budget is obviously going to have an effect on where you can look at schools.
Good luck
Bob

My nephew is renting a one bedroom flat at Penrith and paying $200 per week. You will need to increase your rental budget, I am afraid, the Sydney rental market is very tight at the moment.

It was meant to say $1000 a week not a month.

Ah, yes!! Quite different!!
Definitely check the hills district out. We lived there and were so happy there. Bigger suburbs were Castle Hill and Baulkham Hills, but we loved Glenhaven. If I could have transported Glenhaven to Brissy with me, I would have done! Friends of ours bought our house and are really happy there. Great schools.
Love
Rudi
