Have been searching the site but haven't found any info on the Sutherland Shire/St George regions of Sydney.

We're moving over in November with our 2 kids who are 5y and 2y. My hubby will be working in Port Botany so we will be looking for somewhere not too far from there but most importantly a nice area and with good schools.

Any ideas anyone??? Thanks

Hi tonmat72!

We have been over here for about 18 months, living in Woolooware in Sutherlandshire. The local schools here a brilliant, we have 3 kids 15, 13 and 7, all are doing great. Woolooware is about 35 Km from the CBD with good rail links etc and right on the beach, nice cafes restaurants and a local footie team !!

Happy to pass on any other info you may need, I drive past Port Botany every day, its about 30 mins drive

Hi we have done some research on the schools. most schools have their own website to look on. a good source of information is the Australian schools directory. Google this and you can look up schools by region, religion, public and specialist etc.

It does mean having a couple of internet tabs open at the same time but it has helped us a lot.

Hope this helps

Hiya, great question! Mine is similar:

We are a family of 5, i have 3 children; 13, 16 and 18, but i am not sure about the schools and colleges in the Rouse Hill area, if you could help me out with that, then i'd be really greatful. Also, as we are hoping to emigrate next year, has anyone got any advice on the cost of living? Please reply, thanks.

Cronulla. On the beach, one of the best beaches in the Sydney area (imho ;-) and fantastic transport links (rail) into the city. Also, it's at the end of the line, so if you ever needed to work in the city you'll always get a seat on the train. It's right next to a national park too.
