I originally posted this thread in General Dilemas but got so few replies that I thought I'd try again here....
We're just at the beginning of deciding whether to move to Oz next year and, if so, where we might live... In fact there are so many questions running through my mind at the moment I hardly know where to start! Of course the big one: shall we go? is something I'm just going to have to wrestle with on my own... (hubby is an Aussie so for him it's returning home, even if it has been 20 yrs. For me, it means leaving friends, family etc etc - you all know that feeling...) I sort of feel it might help if we could find the right place to live...
Our criteria are: to live in a mainly warm but not too hot climate (so have narrowed it down to NSW as probably the right area for us even tho' hubby is originally from Melbourne), we need to be near good schools (our children are now 12, 9 & 7), we would ideally like to be within relatively easy reach of Sydney (to get that big city fix, but do not intend to work there), would like to be in a largish town with perhaps a slightly alternative feel within sight of the coast... Does this place exist??? Having done a bit of research we are thinking possibly of
Coffs Harbour (though obviously that's not very close to Sydney!). Does anybody have any other suggestions? We'd love to hear more info on
Coffs too...
