Hi cookie, it was Sunday when we went to Killalea, there was a dark blue 4 W/D in the end car park, but I thought it was a Toyota, thanks for mentioning Mystics, I wondered what they called that beach, see I'm not much of a Guru.
We have been to Bass Point many times, the last time we went to the area near the boat ramp, where the new walkway is to the point, it was covered in snakes, needless to say I haven't been there since, although we have driven to the point many times & been to the lookouts there.
I don't think the houses near Killalea will go much further as it's Crown land, I think when they close the road to The Shallows for the new marina entrance, we will have to go on the Quarry road to get to Bass Point & the Shallows, mind you that's a long way off yet.
There is a small estate on the northern side of Sussex Inlet, where the kangaroos roam around the streets from around 4-oopm each evening, it's a left turn as you enter Sussex Inlet, funny to see them in the gardens.

You're right with the Pod Jean.

SNAKES!? Guess where I am NEVER EVER going to go. Complete and utter phobia about the things, makes my stomach go just to see the word, let alone a picture or to come face to face with any. Yukky-yuk-yuk

No Doubt She'll Get Back On When She's Ready, She's Probably Still Trying To Get Dry From The Wet Weather We Had.

Congratulations all round Jean, just seen your post on another thread, I wondered what was going on the day I called to see young Stewart, now I know.
Don't worry about the nitting, not all kids have them here.

Hi all, Snakes! Wow, we've walked that path and never seen one! We saw plenty of lizards scurrying back into the bush as we approached and in places had to crouch right down and walk under the massive golden orb webs!!! Wouldn't fancy one of those in my hair!!! Skippy, I only know it's called Mystics beach from studying the Wollongong UBD map!! Yes, that was us, the dark blue 4x4!

RVN, we get loads of frogs here! We have 2 cats and our little one brings them in! I don't like frogs either, but these are quite cute looking, they are quite small and have the little sucker pads on their 'fingers'!!! They don't half make a loud screachy, squelchy sound, we always know when the cat has one coz we can hear it a mile off! One got indoors at christmas time and OH and I had to get it off the inside of the window, it just jumped round the corner somehow onto the wall making this yukky squelchy sound! Eewww! Was quite funny watching us both jump around the house trying to avoid contact with it! We live near a pond so there are a lot of them here, it's quite relaxing listening to them at night! We had a huntsman spider stuck between the patio doors the other night! brrrrr!

Wait until the hot weather comes around cookie, then take that walk again, the snakes are asleep at the moment, I love frogs, our dog makes them scream too, I think I would scream if something was going to eat me.
I don't know how frog haters would go on in Queensland, their cane toads are as big as cats.

Unfortunately RVN, they forgot to tell the cane toads that they were banned, we don't get them here.
We had a nice green tree frog called Fred, he used to climb up the outside of the kitchen window each night & eat the little bugs that were trying to get to the light, but he hasn't been now for ages, sometimes we have a white coloured one that comes around thesedays, they are attracted by our neighbours garden pond.
In their mating season, the males go into hollow logs or rainwater downpipes & make a loud croking sound, according to David Attenborough, this is to make the females think there is a big frog out there, seems frogs are like most humans & think bigger is better.
