its a small world

I have been trying to get to oz since Sept 06 this is without applying for visas yet!!! long story! But emigrating i knew would be a lengthy process.

Anyway i have worked for my company for over eight years and thought knew most of the people there etc etc...

They all know about me wanting to go to OZ.

Imagine my surprise when just having general chit chat with deputy head to find she has spent 6 months in Gosford!!!!!!!!
Never ever come up before where was hoping to settle, i always said Sydney but either North or South or somewhere within reasonable distance.

Spent most of this morning looking at all her photographs, then loaned to show family tonight.

Such a small world really!!!!

hi shazney.
after much trawling the ozzy maps and suberb profiles,we too decided that nsw gosford is where we would like to go too,hubby is an engineer,and there seems to be alot of engineering firms in the surrounding areas.terrigal and avoca beach also look nice areas too.also looks good for kiddies too.

It is a small world indeed. When we were in Oz last month I got chatting to a woman on the train to Geelong and it turns out she used to live about 30 miles away from us!

Have to agree it is a small world, while me and my OH were having a drink in a bar in Bahrain who was sitting opposite us was a mate of hubbies from Newcastle upon Tyne.

WE MET A GUY I USED TO GO TO SCHOOL WITH ... IN DUBAI AIRPORT .... HE WAS ON THE SAME PLANE COMING HOME !!!!!

Nic have been looking athese places a long time, People have said Terrigal is bit nicer than Gosford and shops are better at Erina Fair than Gosford. Have been in contact with head teacher at Henry Kendall high school in Gosford and they got above national figures for results according to newsletter anyway. He suggested when we arrived to come and have a look at school, not much else they can do really. Photo i seen at Avoca beach looked lovely and the apatment she had overlooked a rugby pitch tennis courts. Also had spa and ppol on site. From Rose coloured specs sounds fab. Hard to tell from online though.

you may be right.just a bit bothered about the house prices in terrigal.some we had a look at on realestate.com.au were a bit pricey.but i suppose thats the sacrifiice for living in a nice area.i ll do abit of research into primary schools too in the area,and jobs for the hubby.thanks doll.hopefully thats the secondary school bit sorted,gizmos daughter goes to the henry kendall high school,pm her i dont think she will mind..

Fab thanks nic, knew from reading previous posts Gizmo was in that area but didnt know children attended Henry Kendall high school. Will PM them straight away.
When you thinking of going? We are awaiting vourt to let us apply for visas. So will be a good year still to go thats if all is well.
