Grew up near there...
Kincumber is good, plenty of schools, shops, close to Erina fair, Terrigal/Avoca/Wamberal Beaches.
My prference would be Terrigal if you can afford it.
Always plenty of hairdressing jobs.
Erina itself is fairly enclosed, and very busy, as its on the main roads to Terrigal, Kincumber and also has Erina Fair. I would not want to live there.
Both Terrigal and Kincumber are a 10-20 minute drive to Gosford, the main centre, train line etc.

As for school, I would suggest that Kincumber schools have a better reputation then Erina and Terrigal. They did 15 years ago anyway when i was there and imagine would still be teh same.

Terrigal High school was a nice school though.

thanks for that, i did like the look of terrigal/avoca as it's not far from sydney but you get the coast aswell, i will have to look into the schools though. we should have about $400k -$440k hopefully for a house and i'm always looking on realeastate.com.au, but what about rentals? as we will need one for a bit before we buy a house.
do you still live near there now?

Hi Shellie

We are currently living in Terrigal and property is at a standstill at the mo - its a buyers market at this time and you should get something real nice with your 400 - 440k.
We currently rent a 3 bed detached villa with a huge garden and double garage (although only 2 doors its like a triple inside) 1 bath 1 ensuite laundry lounge diner kitchen large deck room for 6 cars for $340 week. My daughter who is almost 14 attends Terrigal High school and loves life here.

Erina fair Erina Fair is only 5/6 mins drive from Terrigal and has lots of hairdressers there in fact there are always hair dresser jobs in the local paper, we also have quite a few hairdressers here in Terrigal too.

Gosford is only 15mins drive from us - but i hardly ever go there as the shops are much better at Erina Fair, its the biggest shopping center on the coast (so im told) with ice skating & cinema too.

Shellie, are you coming out here for a reckie or maybe moving just straight here ??

quite happy to help in any way.
all the best

Yes, very close to the beach..walking distance in most.
As Gizmo said, plenty available for your price range and rentals are also available in the surrounding areas.

No unfortunetely I don't live there right now, I am down in Melbourne..but would move back there in a second if I could.

hi there, it sounds just what i'm after ive been reearching the area for wanted to live within sydney edensor park area and that, but then saw wanted own under and thought it would be better for the whole family, if we included the coast aswell, especially for the kids settling in and that, we hope to get out there soon, it's just that i own my own business(salon) and can't afford to dissappear for a month, although it is for sale and as soon as we can and kids are off school we'll be checking out the area.
We started the papers on jan 30th, we're currently getting hold a copies of certificates and that at the moment, i know it can take about 12/14 months in all, but can't wait to get there again, we went 12 years ago and said that we would take the kids first and show them the promise land. we want to have schools sorted and rental, job etc sorted before we come back permanetly,I know it's going to disrupt the kids, but we want to try and do it as smoothly as possible(if that is possible?) They know we want to go and they are looking forward to it, we look for houses all the time on realestate, and they love the big houses with pools, that's the only thing they want and to be able to go to the beach after school.
