hi everyone,lookin to move out to nsw gosford or terrigal area at the end the year.maybe wait till after christmas. are there any cumbrians that are going through the process of moving to oz. or any that have settled in oz, preferably nsw areas. drop a thread, any crack or info would be great. xx

We're from Barrow in Furness in Cumbria and are currently going through the visa process. We hope to move to the Illawarra region once visa has been granted. Although going through abit of an uncertain bit at the mo coz its taking sooooo long and the memories of Oz from Jan 07 are fading!! I guess it'll be OK in the end!

I am originally from Dearham / Mary port but moved to Edinburgh 9 Years ago.
I miss the Cumbria crack, my husband always says I get back in to my Cumbria slang when I come home for the weekend.

Thansk goodness for the times and star on line as i get my weekly update from that.

We are moving out to Sydney on 27th April 08, the removal company came and collected all out things yesterday.

Would love to meet up with others from Cumbria when we get over.

I am back to Cumbria in 3 weeks time to say good bye to all my old friend and family

hi there, my sister in law has justed moved to terrigal with her hubby and 2 kids , me and the missus are going out feb 2009 for a month , visit/recce , see what its all about maybe even consider moving there ourselves . im looking to have some contact with people over there, so when we go over we can meet a few people and see what its all about, check out the work situation etc

Hi everyone. I'm also from Cumbria - near Carlisle. We're still at the research stage, but hoping to apply for visa soon - sick of the cold.

Haven't got a clue where we want to live over there - everywhere looks so nice in the pictures compared to here, but hopefully somewhere where the house prices are not to OTT. So far, Wollagong area looks nice and also areas around Brisbane and Melbourne.
