Short-term accomodation recommendsations in Sydney

Hi - We're looking to move to Sydney in September(ish) and as neither of us have jobs yet, we're not entirely sure where abouts we want to live, or even where we can afford to live in the city!

Therefore we'd ideally like some flexible short term accomodation that is fully furnished whilst we make up our minds. Does anyone have any recommendations? Doesn't have to be too flash - that way it will encourage us to search quicker and harder!

We were looking at http://www.shortstays.net/Smith1.htm but it's a tad pricey at $600+ per week.

Cheers all.

Are there just the two of you??? Whats your price range??
Just look on the real estate web sites..I found this one..

Its right in the city and would be fantastic to live for awhile..Its just what you can afford really. Failing that the back packer hostels are really good here and have loads of choice to suit budgets. That could be an option for awhile too.

You get the idea anyway cause this one here is alot cheaper than the last one so you really just have to look around.
Hope I have been some help and I will stop day dreaming about staying in Sydney now.

Sydney

Hi
I live in Sydney but not sure about short term accommodation other than $600+ a week sounds very expensive! Check out some websites and if you find something I'll let you know if area/price sounds reasonable. Obviously there are some very expensive suburbs in Sydney but there are some more affordable ones that are quite accessible to CBD and are nice to live in!

Thanks for those links - have sent them a quick email, they look lovely but not sure if they're for short term rental?

There are only 2 of us, and yep we will definitely look at hostels and probably motels too as most of them allow you to book week by week which will give us time to look around different properties and areas to get a good feel of the place.

Smile Which are the nicest suburbs for families in Sydney??

We are moving to Sydney at the beginning of Aug with 2 small children, we are trying to work out which areas are the best for schooling/not to far to commute to the CBD, any ideas ??? quite a few people have mentioned Manly, which is supposed to be lovely, but maybe a bit touristy!
