Waga Waga info

Hi All :)

I am due to move to Waga Waga near Kapooka with the Oz Army any info on the area would be appreciated, I have 3 teenage daughters & a wife continually asking whats it like!

Hello there,

I did my Business degree off campus via CSU at Wagga Wagga (think means many black birds), visited for residentials and was born Yarrawonga (birds nest in gum tree) :) Nice Oz place names.

May be bit dry at the moment but Wagga (short form :)) university town in nice fertile countryside is in reach of Canberra, Albury/Wodonga on Murray river border, Sydney, NSW and Vic ski fields and south coast (meaning up to 6-7 hours travel), flights can get you further for weekend breaks e.g. Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, NZ etc.

Locally, if you enjoy sport do it or just participate with a club watching etc., it is the biggest social thing in country towns and cities and easiest way by far to meet people.

We were intially being posted to Wagga Wagga but they have since changed and we are now going to Canberra in about 6-8 weeks time just in the process of sorting out removals as VISA was approved today and hubby has been out of army after 22 yrs for 1 week so nothing stopping us, apart from having everything cleaned free of dirt otherwise it will be destroyed at the other end. Did u attend the interviews in London, as we were given a disc that had all the info you needed on locations, if not feel free to email your address and I can send info on Wagga Wagga to you.
