It depends where you want to be really. If you are prepared to be an hour away then you could live somewhere up on the Central Coast. However, there are areas closer than that which you could look at. I think it's really a case of looking north of west of Pymble to find the less expensive suburbs. Have you thought about Hornsby, Cheltenham, Beecroft, Cherrybrook, Castle Hill, Kellyville? I would not go any further west than that.
Do you have children? Are decent schools a consideration? All those areas I have mentioned have decent schools.
