The Clare sounds familiar - it IS on Broadway but I can't think which one it is! I've been to The Beresford tonight which was full of poseurs and then The Trinity bar where I had $12.50 schnitzel for dinner.

Its the one across from UTS. Stinks of damp and other stuff, but serves better-than-average beer and has jugs for $11. It is full of old sofas and lounges.

I had a schooner of Coopers in there, but not the usual 'green label' one, because I asked the barman about it (I think!) I felt really elderly in there too - nobody older than 20 - again, the barman told me it was a 20th birthday party and the 'olds' had already left.

Balls Head by Wollestonecraft - funny bit of bushiness in middle of a big city :) It's by a naval base called Waterhen or something.

That's what I thought about it - quite a large bit of bush, a bit lonely too? I can't remember, might have to go down there for a look!

Yes, fairly big. Last Sunday mid morning was sunny but there were only a few other people about. An elderly couple having a picnic and the odd tourist snapping pictures (good views across to the Harbour). We walked round for a bit, sat under a tree for a while with the paper, and then walked to Berry Somewhere via a beach (has to be low tide, otherwise you walk through a little wood thing instead). Berry Island, I think it is - only small. All in all, not a bad way to spend a few hrs in the fresh air.
