I've tracked this forum down (great service by the way!) as I'm involved in a boating business in Sydney and have noticed that we have a hell of a lot of British expat members!
We (Pacific Boating Group) operate like a club - think Golf Club membership or Gym membership.
Simple annual memberships, the best way to get into boating in Australia - at least your fellow expats seem to think so!
No long-term commitments, none of the usual boating costs and most importantly, none of the hassles - true walk-on, walk-off boating.
Full training and comprehensive boating course included with every membership.
Club parties: social functions by the edge of the water with live music, drinks, nibbles and other like minded families, expats and members.
