Same here!! Things arent looking too good right now, let alone when theres more out of work all chasing the non existent jobs!! weve decided just to call this a working holiday, see what we want to see and then homeward bound. I think once you live here and then return, everyone should be more positive about living in the uk.......its really not that bad!!!!

If you want to look at other options you may be surprised! People should look at other opportunities, or make your own. Depends what visa you are on there is always your own business to start.

Hey guys,
Things are bad everywhere, but Topscott is right, it is a lot lot worse in the UK. In fact, the US and other places are expected to go into recovery and the end of the year, but not the UK.

Thats right Chrissy "not what you know but who you know"and i also think that the Australians are employing Australians over us poms and fair play to them, this is a great country but i never said England was such a bad place,we came here to try and get a better life but the way things are we wont be able to get it for at least another 12/18months and we cant afford to wait that long.Wish i could afford to just start a buisiness as kernow43 suggested.

I think it's definitely Aussies over Poms and as you say its "who you know". I have been told that quite a few times, mostly by Aussies. In this economic climate, I think it's going to be a hard slog for some Poms to get a foot anywhere near an open door. Good luck with your future plans.
