I used to be a member of a virtual forum for a martial arts group and people had to start their posts with disclaimers that said that what they were posting was only their personal opinion and shouldn't be taken as anything else. Hope this site doesn't go the same way!
Having said that, perhaps those that have expressed less than supportive comments feel that those who have got the visas and made the big move only to decide that Oz isn't for them have somehow not made the most of their 'golden ticket'. Hello? The point is not that it's a 'golden ticket' but it's THEIRS so therefore THEY should decide whether they use it or not, no? THEY were the ones that became skint using all their money on agents and visa application costs, THEY were the ones who waited and waited and waited, THEY were the ones who didn't eat anything the day before their medicals so they might be slightly more favorable on the scales (ok, that might just have been me) so shouldn't THEY equally be entitled to say 'no thanks'?
Having been here 2 months, I've only just dipped my big toe into what is Australia and look forward to experiencing all that is has to offer - good and bad. Time and experience will tell whether my OH and I stay here or move on. Either way, I'd hope that people would be supportive of what we chose to do.
I'll be supportive of you, with you being involved with martial arts you might beat me up if i dont!!! 100% behind you lol

I enjoy reading them all, good, bad, positive, negative. But to be honest Aldo your posts are always guaranteed to make me smile whatever they're about.
No glittery hugs here, I don't know how to do them (and I don't want to make you sick, either)

Hey aldo
In my book, anyone that has given something a go is streets ahead of the lazy bludgers who sit on the side line and just throw rocks. Top marks to you for being brave enough to try something different rather than sit around with the rest of the whinging poms.
And you know what my biggest fear is right now? Even though I spent most of my life in Oz, I'm bloody worried that we'll go back there only to find that we hate it. So what the hell do we do then?
...oops....re-read my post and realised I've had a few too many stubbies.....sorry if I've insulted a few peeps
Surely at the end of the day it is better to say " guess what I did it. it didnt work , but I did it!" rather than "Perhaps we should have had a go"
Hats off to everyone that comes to Oz. Its a brave thing to do. But hell, I think it is braver and more courageous to have the guts to say...."guess what, it werent for me"
Just my thoughts!!!!

I spoke to my sister the other day and she said that she saw some of my mates back home in my local and they couldn't believe that i was coming home. They thought if anyone was suited to Oz it was me. They obviously believe all the cr4p they hear about about life here. I'll be putting a few things straight when i get back...
Also thanks everyone for the kind words but its not me that needs support! I was on about another poster that got ripped into recently for not embracing the Aussie dream. I need no support, i hate this place more and more each day but refuse to let the crap weather, crap job, crap money, crap pubs, red necks, bogans, mullets, beer food, cost of living, useless drivers, construction workers in tight shorts, wife beater shirts, radio stations, traffic police (go bust some of the sex offenders and skag heads), shops, crows, magpies, thongs, bare feet, wine in boxes, crap bbqs, back yard social life, did i mention pubs?............get me down.
