Murder rate England and Wales lowest in 30 Years
Bit of good news for those coming home.
: Homicide at 30-year England and Wales low.
The number of murders and killings in England and Wales has fallen to the lowest level in nearly 30 years, Office for National Statistics figures show.
Police recorded 550 homicides in 2011-12, 88 fewer than the previous year and the lowest number since 1983.
Offences such as pickpocketing, shoplifting and bicycle theft rose 2%, the only crime category to show a rise.

Ah but hang on a minute. How many murders have not been reported yet? You know what it's like trying to get the police out for an incident and how long it takes for them to turn up.
If it happens then it happens. If it doesn't well it doesn't. Amor Fati !!

Argggh, stuff the murder rate.
I did a bit of shoplifting the other day at Tesco, had my wallet nicked whilst in the booze aisle and some bugger had nicked my get away bicycle.

not enough police to record the true stats............
Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.

Yep reducing police officers by 10,000 in the last 2 years seems to have worked

A good barrister will get a murderer hoff a murder rap and get it replaced with ....... Manslaughter due to diminished responsibility. Over the years this charge has been allowed to creep in more and more, I find it quite repugnant.
