      For those coming home .

Right now ,it is seriously cold .......coldest i have known it since i have been back .....minus 20c in some places later this week .
At has its bonuses , i was working on the coast in Pembrokeshire yesterday .....stunning.
Wales is truly a beautiful country ( other than Port Talbot and Newport)
Dont believe all the doom and gloom merchants .
Most people i know , mostly tradespeople ......plumbers , electricians etc ,are seriously busy ......with one catch " if they are any good" .
Iam waiting on a kitchen fitter to finish my kitchen .
As he is a mate , i said to him " do it when you can , day here and a day there ".
Iam still bloody waiting for him to finish it .......since SEPTEMBER ....he is flat out.
The motorways are full of trucks again .......things are being moved , so somethings happening somewhere.
We are on the way back ......projected growth year on year is predicted ......now we have got rid of that shower.
They now have an independent body making the economic forecasts for the UK economy , check it out .

Yes but how many are full with back loads? or even full going 1 way? Seems to me that there are plenty of light loads floating around this country and thats not good!

The funny thing is that most of the doom and gloom seems to come from people living happily here, I cant for the life of me understand why they troll for 'bad' news. When I speak to friends actually in the UK I get a very different picture, they are still working, they are still getting pay rises, they are still enjoying life. As you say the economic pointers are definitely looking positive, decent growth and positivity.

I just read that the number of public sector job losses has been slashed to 330,00 from the 490,000 first feared and well below the absurd 1.5 million I saw bandied about on here more than once

      Oi I'm from Newport

Funnily enough I've just finished reading an email from a friend who also lives there and she described it as 'grotty Newport'.

It definitely could do with a bit of work.

I'm sorry what's the difference to you trolling the internet looking for good stories?

Simple fact is, good or bad news stories, what your friends are doing has no real bearing on what is happening to you!!!!!

I wonder how many POMS have seen lots of jobs advertised in Australia only to find when they arrive they can't get them...... But I bet that wont happen to you

Those same independent bodies predict unemployment will rise to 8% over the next couple of years, and everyone will have to work till they're at least 70 before they can draw a state pension to pay off the £800 billion budget deficit.

If you consider that good news, good for you.

Oh and you may have noticed the student riots aswell, why? if you have kids, you'll have to pay at least £9k a year to put them through Uni.
