Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what the best bank is in Australia for people migrating over.

I am currently living in the UK having just had my Visa back and would like to open up the bank account in Australia soon before we move over.

Hi there
If you search over in here, you would find that there is no best bank as such everywhere you go. I think bank is pretty much the same. Having said that, my bank is Westpac. We just came back from Adelaide after validating our visa. So far I have no problem activating my account, and the bank has waived the fee for the first six months. I think there are other banks like NAB, Bendigo, Commonwealth Bank, etc. Go to their site and see which one you fancy or probably suits your need.

There are lots of big name banks that offer this service to migrants. We opened our account before leaving, on-line with ANZ,, 4 years later and we are still with them and have had no issues.
