UTV News - Food costs to soar as big freeze deepens - no better here either...
Yep, the freak weather in the UK is effecting everyone, I was in Morrisons (Gibraltar) yesterday and a lot of shelves empty due to the lorries not getting out of the UK and now central Spain is set to cop it heavy.
theres always other options, invest in solar, tank water, diesel generator.
Not always cost effective though Paul and a i'm not sure how well a diesel genny would go down in a quiet cul de sac in say daisy hill
if you are out in the sticks it may be an option but photovoltaic systems are expensive and will take years to pay for themselves, the coiled tube systems may be a better option but less attractive. The water tanks have been proven to work but again are ugly. I've installed some of the new type underground systems that look like beer crates stacked on top of each other in a rubber lined hole then back filled (used in a lot of new sports stadiums). These are great but really only cost effective on new builds.

Doesnt surprise me to be honest. Costs have gone up big time in the (almost) 5 years I have been here.
We are waiting solar elec and solar water to be fitted! With all the rebates still not a cheap process! Waiting time has been almost 5 months!
