Working abroad living in Oz

My husband works in the oil industry and would not necessarily be working in Oz when we move over there. He is going on a perm spouse visa.

If he works in another country and pays their tax, how does that stand in Oz with regard to medicare, school fees, family benefit etc and anything to do with the government.

You will have to pay for almost everything if you do not contribute to the system.

It does seem confusing. Oz has treaties with certain countries so you dont pay tax twice but I think the best thing would be to be a good accountant that deals with these curcumstances when we get there.

Yup, I think that would definitely be the way to go!!!! It was certainly beyond me
