Any ebayers out there

Hi, as I might have to come over as a student I will have to earn some money at some stage. I been supplementing my income using ebay in England for a couple of years now and would like to know if it basically works the same in Oz or are there some differences I should be aware of.

Can anyone tell me how good the postal service is in terms of convenience and reliability.

Hi Nigel,
Yes just the same as uk ebay, (eBay Australia - Buy or sell practically anything on eBay, the world's online marketplace) you could go to the aussie site & sign in from there -just the pound signs change to dollars signs etc.
We transfered our ebay so we didnt loose our ratings that we had, once in oz just logged in to the uk one and done a change of destination address etc & then sorted paypal out by adding a aussie credit card and new address.
Its all easy

I forgot the postal bit, had no worries with the postal service in oz or outside of oz, i often get bits from peeps in the uk as aussie ebay is no way as big as the uk ebay, i.e.you could sell a 2nd hand pair of knickers on uk ebay & someone would buy them, i have found (trying to sell a few bits we brought with us but dont really want) quite hard on aussie ebay and it seems that its more designer labels and not the high street labels.
There is a lot of scope for someone to make some big bucks with the right product on aussie ebay - it really does need bringing into the 21st century a bit more and even some of the aussies i have spoken too have never even looked at ebay

Many thanks, that all sounds straight forward enough. Yes I had noticed it was quite a lot smaller but good to know it is effectively the same. I'm sure with a bit of imigination I can find something niche for their market. As for the 21st century bit, I know exactly what you mean. I have many Australian friends that still haven't discovered how to use email. I'll try and convert them when I get there.
