Super refund on PR visa
Just wondering if anyone has or knows someone who has got a refund of super after leaving australia for good?
I'm a member of another group of people for people who are returning to the UK and this question was asked, the lady was told that mixed advice of you had to be on a temporary visa, then someone else said she knew someone who got a refund who'd been here on a PR. The lady then rang her super fund and got told that she could get a refund, I double checked and she told them she had PR. Being the weekend I can't check with my own.
I've being doing research and everything I find just says for temporary visas, the logic is that you won't be comimg back to australia so won't need a pension. But if you leave on a PR that has expired and you don't have residents return visa or you cancel your visa then you can't return so therefore won't need you're pension.
Anyone know?
Thanks

Hi
Preserved Super can only be accessed if a condition of release has been met, see here http://www.ato.gov.au/corporate/cont...27.htm&page=20
Temporary residents departing Australia where the visa is cancelled or expired can apply under condition 9 in the above link as follows:

I have seen replies to threads on here and other forums that say they know someone who has managed to claim after being a permanent, not sure how they managed this though.
