Subclass 100 Partner visa processing time

My fiancee and I applied for a partner visa for myself August 4th...after submitting the application I was asked to provide a medical which we did earlier in September, and most recently we were both interviewed.

The case office was happy to say that he can see we are a genuine couple etc and on that basis qualify for the subclass 100 visa.

We were then informed that all application made in August can expect to be completed and given 6 months later...February.

My question is what are other peoples current experiences?

It's take us just 7 weeks to get the application, police check, medical and interviews done and we haven't been asked for any more information, so not sure what else would take 4.5 months??

Not frustrated, just excited and wanted to see what your experiences are for this visa

      TIA

      Harvey

At the moment people are being processed in around 4 months...but you need to be aware that April/May June applicants were all told the lead time was 3-4 months, so DIAC are sticking to the times given at the date of application. Since July the lead time is published as 5-6 months due to changes in legislation/policy at that time. DIAC are still telling people who apply now the same 5-6 months. I wouldn't count on the time being any shorter than the current published lead time, but it may change or you may be lucky.

On the plus side...if it stretches out further (like it did in July!) then London may still process it in "only" 5-6 months as published!

Sounds like it's in the bag already, but Good Luck anyway!

Nothing!! it seems once you've ticked all the boxes, somebody writes an arbitrary date on your file and then it sits and sits until that date rolls around and you get your visa

      Thanks Peach.

I was just on your website and noticed you got a page in your passport for your subclass 100.

Can I ask, how long after being given your Visa did you have to enter Australia to activate it?

You're given 12 months from the date of your medicals or police certificate (whichever is soonest) to activate your visa. In my case I have until January 2011 to do it (am off end of October for a week!).
