South Australia – New State Sponsorship Applications

State Sponsorships – New Sponsorship Applications

Immigration SA is pleased to advise that we will be accepting new Sponsorship applications for migrants who wish to live and work in South Australia.

The online application system will be re-instated in the very near future to offer sponsorships for a limited number of occupations in an interim list until the State Migration Plan and associated List is implemented.

If you have already submitted a ‘complete’ application to Immigration SA AND your occupation is included in this Interim List, your application will be processed accordingly. You do not need to send a new application at this stage.

Details of all the requirements and criteria will be published when the system is re-instated. To be successful, applicants must meet ALL the requirements and criteria. Do not contact Immigration SA but monitor this website regularly. Click here for the Interim South Australian Occupation List.

      Hi guys,

So is this an indication of the final list then? Pharmacists are not on it! Will the list include other occupations that have not been included?

      Hi Jag

Thanks very much for the information above.

What do you reckon it means, though? Why would a State Government bother with devising and implementing interim measures if it expects to be able to sign an MoU and publish its SMP within 3 or 4 weeks anyway?

      Cheers

      Gill

      Hi Notun

Your anxiety is understandable. Thousands of other people share that anxiety.

However Jag Khairra is not a fortune teller, my friend! It is not possible for him to say whether the occupations on SA's interim list will be the same occupations that will be in SA's SMP.

Would you have to get a new skills assessment if you want to say that you are a Telecom Engineer instead of an Electronics Engineer, please?

      Cheers

I think this is just an indication by SA government for things to expect. I believe they are fine-tuning their lists and requirements. They definitely want skilled migrants and they don't want to be left behind other states. So they have quickly issued the interim list to indicate what's coming and get skilled migrants interested.

Of course, I am not a fortune teller :P I am just trying to make some sense out of this announcement.

I filed for my visa in July 2009 after getting sponsorship for Systems Manager (2231-11 asco code). Now this asco code does not exist in the new list released by DIAC, Do i need to do any thing? Can you guide me little bit please?
      Thanks
