The New Zealand migration system already uses the ANZSCO code in nominating a skilled occupation eversince. If DIAC will use the latest ANZSCO as a reference, the link below will guide us to determine the corresponding ANZSCO code of our nominated occupation which is still under the ASCO
1220.0 - ANZSCO - Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations, First Edition, Revision 1
The question is , since our occupation has now a different code do we need to undergo a re-assessment according to the new ANZSCO?
ANZSCO has a broad range of occupation however DIAC only chose about 1/4 of it for the newlist of Skilled occupations. I just hope that the states would consider including all other occupations on their SMP.
My nominated occupation is Life scientist with ASCO code of 2113-79 . However in ANSZCO code Life scientist is a unit group of occupation (2345 Life Scientist )which has several occupations under it
234511 Life Scientist (General)
234512 Anatomist or Physiologist
234516 Marine Biologist
234599 Life Scientists nec
I wonder how DIAC would handle the lodged assessment considering that occupation codes were changed also
