South Australia suspended prcessing application for offshore applicants!
Applicants under the General Skilled Migration Program should be aware that DIAC has made an announcement today suspending all Offshore GSM application. Please direct any enquiries on this matter to DIAC via your nearest Australian High Commission and not to Immigration SA.
As a result, Immigration SA will also be suspending processing all Offshore Sponsorship applications, until further notice. However, Onshore sponsorship applications will proceed at this stage.

Our agent just advised us of SA pulling the plug on SS applications. I wonder will the other states follow suit?
Thats WA, SA that arent processing at the moment. Leaves us all in a right state of limbo to be honest!!

If you have your 175 lodged and have 120 points you should be ok - this will still be a valid application.
If you are waiting for your SS for SA you could be waiting a little longer than you thought. They have stopped processing altogether AFAIK.
We are waiting for SS from the ACT but we only have 100 points so we didnt lodge because if the ACT stop processing applications we will be in a pool of applications floating around with no priority.

Thanks for that, just emailed SA to clarify, so hopefully hear soon.
Yeah, got 130 points, but that doesn't help with priority processing, we are worried about new applications taking priority causing us to stay at the bottom of a never ending queue!! SS would at least mean fewer people jumping ahead of us!!

Hi All,
Just to confirm I am understanding this correct. Has SA stopped processing all of its existing applications also, or is it just the new ones that are going to come in? Also, we have lodged 175, Meanwhile we also have a grant from SA, but did not accept it so far. We are deliberating on if to continue with our 175 (we do have 120 points on hand), or to convert to 176? If we do decide to accept SA SS, would SA process the conversion with DIAC or would it not do anything at all til 30th Jun?
Btw, thanks for all your helpful suggestions on the forum.

The following is a link to the page on SA's website redarding this issue,
Make The Move :: General skilled migration
half way down page there is a section stating the following:
SA State Sponsorship Applications
Current sponsorship applications with Immigration SA will not be affected - processing is continuing as normal.
Current processing time is 4 weeks for Permanent and 8 weeks for Provisional - ensure that any new applications are received in good time to meet any DIAC deadlines (in the future).
Obviously, any changes to policy/criteria or lists from DIAC will have flow-on effects to Sponsorship policy/criteria/lists - until we know what the changes are from DIAC, we are unable to pre-empt what our changes might be.
As usual Immigration SA reviews our lists in their entirety around the middle of the year - any new lists that DIAC bring about will have impact on this.
To me it is unclear whether this is aimed at addressing todays announcement or the announcement of 8th February. I have emailed and asked for further clarification

That is how I read it but I am hoping I am wrong. We have a application in with SA. We were declined 2 weeks ago because we had not sent hard copy proof that my hubby had applied for his visa application before his 45th birthday. They gave us 7 days to provide the additional proof which we did the same day and they sent us an e-mail that said our application would be looked at in 8 weeks time.
