Just wondering if the wise POI can advise me as to wether it is possible to apply for a skilled 175 Visa even whilst working on a RSMS ?

In theory there is nothing to stop you from doing as you suggest, but why would you want to do this in the first place?

An RSMS visa would give you Permanent Residency in Oz from Day One anyway. After 2 years of working for an employer in Regional Oz you can up sticks and move to the middle of Sydney if you so choose, regardless of your occupation. Therefore I can't see any advantage in switching from an RSMS visa to a 175 visa?

Could you explain why you are thinking along these lines, please?

Hi Gill and thanks for the reply as always.
My reasoning behind thinking like that is I am worried in case I get to my regional sponsor and the job or the area dont work out.
Its just me being paranoid I think, I am sure all will be well just trying to look at all possibilities should the worse happen.

If it's any help, we came to Oz and hubby went for an interview and got a sponsor, then he worked for him for around 18 months on the 175 temp work visa until our RSMS visa was approved, now we are permanent residents and he is doing his 2 years until we are free to go where we like. We had that 18 months to decide if we wanted to stay in Oz and if he liked working here. The only reason it took so long to get the RSMS though, was because we were messed about by a bad agent in the UK, I'm sure PIOs will be able to recommend a good agent for you if you need one.

Sorry! It was a 457 temp work visa not a 175!! Just to confuse you even more!!
