Processing commenced
When I check on the progress of my online application for my 175 visa I get the following message:
12/9/2009 Application received - processing commenced
I think that previously it didn't say "processing commenced" but I can't be too sure! Does this mean that someone is looking at our application and we should get allocated a case officer soon?

wishfull thinking, are you sure it said that and its changed as mine has said that since day one.

Hi sorry to dissapoint but I think they all say that. Mine has since June last year and it looks like we will be waiting a long time yet with the changes coming in tomorrow. Sorry to not give you positive news. Jules.

Mine says that also, i dont think anyone will be looking at my case for at least 2 years, and am thouroghly cheesed off!

Mine too also has said this for nearly a year....
However, it will depend on the catergory you are in, as to how long processing may take....

my 175 was loged nov 08.....( before christ ) and mine said that from the start too... they just do that to make you feel happy.... and then that turns to being pissed off!!

Sorry peeps it just means you aplication has been looked at and filed in order... We have all got a long wait unless things change! The new MODL list will be out on Monday, some of us might be off it then we will have to wait even longer....

The Processing Commenced Status is the very first status for any application after receiving your application. So, it's common for everybody else. I think you've missed the "Processing Commenced" while you checked you status earlier, but I'm sure it was there. All the best for your application.
