To add or not to add?

Morning and evening to all,
My dilema is this, we are awaiting a 176 non-CSL Cat 5 and have just had a lovely baby boy

our timeline would suggest we are perhaps weeks away from a visa grant (heres hoping). Our new born is due for a minor operation on a hernia on Friday so cannot have a medical for a few weeks I presume.

I am worried

if we add him to the visa we may be ruled out of the before June group however not adding him would cost a massive £1000 and a length of time until it is granted which may go over our validation date if our visa is granted inbetween.

I'm sorry if this sounds confusing but I have become very edgy as far as decisions go with visa's and when to do things after one failed trip already.

I don't understand your question indeed.
You cannot not to add your child to the application. If you don't your visas might be canceled at all. An applicant is obliged to inform DIAC about any changes in his/her application information and especially about all dependants.
Needless to say, that the child won't even be permited Aus entry.

Or did you ask for something else?

Congratulations on your new arrival. You do need to inform diac about the baby otherwise they won't be on the visa grant.

As far as I know I have two options one is to add baby on to existing visa application or the other is to apply for a child visa once ours is granted obviously not going until the child visa is granted.
The decision I am struggling with is if I add him on to existing visa will this mean I'll be taken of the 3500 group, who by all accounts will get their visa grants before June. If so should I not just apply for a child visa once ours is granted (does this take long).

Is this a little clearer LOL!

I was under the impression that you had to inform them, as it is a material change in your circumstances.

Unfortunatelly I don't think you have a choice.
First of all, it's your obligation to inform DIAC about changing of your circumstances otherwise it might be considered as a fraud.
Secondly, you won't be able to apply for a child visa until you validate your own visa. So you'll have to fly to Aus without your child first before start child visa process.
