I am confused about the need for a state sponsored visa. I'm hoping someone can clarify for me!

My husband can apply for an executive level business skills visa but i want to know if there is any reason we should try to apply for state sponsorship in WA since this is where the business that we wish to purchase is located. or should we just apply for the business skills visa and land in perth?

any insight is appreciated!
