Hi all, We are in the final stages of applying for a 175. Everything has been passed now except my husband's medical-he's the main applicant. We expected it may be referred because of previous medical problems. Just wondering if anyone has been through this process how long its likely to take and whether people had positive outcomes

thanks

Hi my medical was referred, now this was a few years ago but from recieving the call from our agent saying it was being queried it took a week for them to tell me to go and see a panel specialist( this doesnt happen in all referred cases though).

I rang around specialists with a major sob story to see which one could see me first, all up it added another month onto our wait and a few hundred pound onto the bill before the very nice at immigration granted the visa.

Good Luck and stay positive

My meds were referred through prev medical conditions and I was advised before I sent the meds off to Sydney to get a specialist report and copies of my GP records, and it was all passed in 10 days of referral. If they want you to do someother test they will contact you I believe.

There is a sticky thread on British Expats with guidelines from others as tohow long they are taking at the MOC (where the referrals go).

Fingers crossed.

Mine was (because I stupidly said I'd had M.E. 15 years ago). It took about another 2 weeks I think after that. In which time I'd chewed all my nails off and vowed never to be honest again!

I think the only 2 things that really likely to stop a visa are TB and HIV.

Try not to worry! Easier said than done....

All our meds were finalised yesterday except for my eldest sons, which now says referred. He has some small physical disabilities and mild learning problems, he was diagnosed last year at age 12 to have 'a complex re-arrangement of his chromosone 8' which even the doctors said they didn't really know what that mean't as no-one else has the same re-arrangement as far as they can find!! He is not on any medication though. I gave our panel doctor copies of all recent reports, so we're just keeping our fingers crossed. I'm not sure what we will say if they refuse us our visas, as I don't want him to think it was his fault.

thanks for all the replies we'll be keeping our fingers crossed but good to hear that others have had positive outcomes and hopefully we won't be waiting too long
