Urgent advice needed; getting new 457 visa

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping someone might be able to provide some advise...

I was 3 months away from getting my pr when I was made redundant so the job hunt began. I'm finding a lot of companies resistant to the idea of sponsoring right now advising me to talk to them again in January.

Then out of the blue I get offered my ideal role plus its paying more than what I was on - I know I cant believe it either. Unfortunately they dont have headcount so its contact till June 10 when it will become perm but they cant sponsor me

I know there are a couple of companies out there who have the master labour agreement with the government and can sponsor people (along the lines of what freespirit/geoffrey nathan etc just to do)

Does anyone have any suggestions? Please...

This sentence does not make much sense.

What exactly do you mean? And why can't they sponsor you?

Sorry Lee I'm so used to people dealing with people in recruitment etc who understand what I'm implying.

Some companies dont have permanent head count until the new financial year due to budget restrictions (they have no money in the salaries budget to hire a new staff member); they need work done or have a vacancy so hire someone on a contract or temporary basis (as this can be funded from a difference source).

In this case the client made someone redundant earlier in the year as part of downsizing, now business is picking up they need someone to do the work. The funding for a permanent person will not come online until July 2010 hence the role is contact with the view to a permanent position.
