Has anyone applied to WA for State sponsorship 176?

I've just joined PIO and think it's great, so any help will be greatly appreciated!

Myself and my partner applied for a 176 family sponsored visa back in Nov 2008, and due to the new priority processing we've decided to apply for State Sponsorship to WA as it will hopefully be a much quicker process. We applied using a migration agent last time, and feel this time we can carry out the process ourselves. Has anyone applied for state sponsorship to WA without and agent? I submitted my application for skills assessment 4 weeks ago, and am awaiting the response. I have a few specific questions below regarding the online SS forms:

1) Is there a minimum threshold for funds? I was under the impression that you need to state an amount in terms of your assets, but there is no minimum amount? Is this the case?

2) If anyone has completed the process how long did it take from submitting online state spon forms, and main DIAC application to getting visa?

We applied for WA sponsorship and recieved it on the 20 July,they dont ask for proof but you do need to tell them how much you are taking with you to support yourselves if you dont get a job immediately.When I called them with that specific question the lady said that for my family of six I would need 50000AUD .We are saving as we go so we gave a breakdown of how we were going to obtain it,we dont have a house to sell .
We have applied for the visa on 20th august and have been requested for our police clearance and medicals and then we will wait and see,some people are getting their visas within a month of submitting everything.
