Delays/further docs requested: First application in June, and since I did not received any confirmation, I sent e-mail to them to check if they have received it (although I got confirmation from the system that application is completed and I could see it on the tracking page). They said that they never received it and to apply again. I have sent them printouts (I printed out confirmation pages and everything else to PDF file) because I did not want to loose time which I have already waited but they did not want to hear it and asked again to reapply. So I did, and got rejected eventually. My occupation is Computing professional - Network security specialist.

Hi Taylor20

Welcome glad you have joined us. I've loaded your details onto the front page with the rest of us.

Brill looks like we are moving along a bit now and getting a few more takes to this thread - really looking forward to recieving some positive news for any of us.

Hmm I not sure Vinnie...when I got my case id from them last week, the told me that the standard wait is now 12 weeks and that no applications could be fast tracked...so we will have to wait & see!!

Aaaagh 12 weeks - just when I thought we should be hearing soonish - but I see some other states are quite a bit longer.

I wish that our status would show something other than blank!

Is it worth hanging on until you hear re SS - then maybe doing your medicals and front-loading if you get SS before getting pregnant?

Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones Vinnie I see that some VIC SS have been granted very quickly.

We have heard nothing since the acknowledgement. I wish there were a few more people in front of me to watch it come closer - yet at the same scared in case we get rejected!

I know it seems like this whole process is taking ages!!! I discovered something today which i thought I would share with you guys when VIC emailed me last friday to request further information I received the email on 07 August 2009 10:03:41 and I responsed within the hour today exactly a week later I received an email at 14 August 2009 10:03:54 saying that my file had been updated. From this it seems that there whole system is automated which is a pity as it maybe the case that you are approved for sponsorship however the system wont email to tell you this until a specific time and date programmed!!

I don`t think that they work sorted by date of application. I think that they work by occupations, some gets faster processing (based on frequency of industry panel meetings), some takes more time. That is just my opinion. I got an email from them (12.08. when i sent them more detailed CV on their request) that is currently 10 weeks processing time. I hope it will be faster :)))

Nine of us so far!

I'm just wondering if there is anyone else waiting from June or earlier (or after too). Even if you would rather not join this timeline it would be interesting to know how long people are waiting to hear back about VIC SS at the moment?

Having just found out OH has passed his plumbing practical we've just submitted a statement of why we want to live in Vic along with a statutory declaration agreeing to live there for 2 years which were requests from Vic. Whether they look at it stralight away or not is another matter!
