SA State Sponsorship - How Long until granted???

Hello All,

Haven't been on here for a while but a big hello from me anyway!!

My partner has just passed the Vetassess!!! YAY!!! We're moving along slowly but somewhere which is great!! I was just wandering how long the process takes from here. We'll hopefully be lodging the State Sponsorship Visa end of next week. How long will it take to get the visa granted and for us to be able to book our flights!!!!! I know we still have the police checks etc to go.

Hi.
We applied for state sponsorship on 24 march and received a letter on 27 july to say we have been granted sponsorship to WA...
As it took so long we even stopped talking about it. I believe that if we were to apply for our visa now, it would only take 4-6 months for our visa to be granted. Also meds and police checks have to be done.
The visa has to be validated within a year i believe by entering australia. This can be for a holiday if you are not ready to emmigrate.
We were planning to emmigrate in 2010 but a more realistic target will be 2011.
When are you thinking of making the big move?

hi sa state sponsorship seems to be one of the quickest around 4-6weeks look on thread (SA STATE SPONSORSHIP- ARE YOU WAITING) this has lots of peoples time line including ours good luck paddy
