spouse visa processing time

Hi All,

We logged our spouse visa to australia house in uk on the 1/7/09 it was a full application police check, medical included ect. it is only for myself so i was just wondering the current processing times and how long before a case officer contacts you after you send it in??? can anybody help please

Thanks for the congrats! Think we were extremely lucky, 1 week was a shock 4 us! By reading a few posts i think they have started to get a crack on as to speak so fingers crossed yours should be soon!!

I just called them coz still not heard (ok only submitted 29th June but they did say call after 10 days if nothing!) and they couldn't find a record of me - they did a search and finally found me with my surname as my first name - honestly! Hehe. They reckon they'll look into it next week and I should hear something. Apparently they process them by letter of your surname, A, B, C etc - makes no sense to me!!

Well that could explain why it was so quick, dont think thats a fair way tho, it should be done in order of recieveing the app, theres a post i read on here and they had been waiting 12 weeks! and it sounded practically the same as my app..... front loaded meds+police check, and only 1 person on the visa. Hopefully by u calling has put ur app into process! I wish you all the best! Dan

Weird system hey! Well hopefully now my application has moved up from them filing it wrongly under 'R' for my first name to 'F' which is my actual surname and might now be seen! Hope everyone else gets theres too - it's not cool waiting.
