How many allocations left in this years quota?

      Hi all,

Does anyone know how DIAC are doing with regard to the quotas for upto the end of June ? In particular I'm interested in the 176s.
We've had so many set backs and are (hopefully) now nearing our grant and I just want to be aware in advance of any issues so we don't have another disappointment if there is likely to any further delay due to the quotas being used up .

      PSS International Removals
Family of 5, CSL upto 16/3, MODL, TRA Feb 08, Job Offer 06/08, Lodged family Sponsored 176 07/08, CO 28/1/09, Meds 6/2/09. All met 10/3, lost CSL 16/3, SA SS App 24/3/09 & granted 4/5, SA 1100 to DIAC 5/5.Straight to grant 1/7 ! Still smiling...Flew out 16/9/09.

Lets hope that as we are near the end of the Aussie financial year (June 30th) if they are up on their quote we wont have much longer before the next quota kicks in - surely!?!?

      Fingers crossed hey!

Hummm yes but my worry is is that they may change some rules or something???!! Knowing my luck, like last time. That is why this time I am trying to get all the AQF, TRA done, lodged and finalised hopefully by the end of June to get the DIAC stuff in!!! At least if your file has been received my the DIAC, it is there and on the pile, and it is classed as lodged when it is stamped as received isn't it? They cannot sent it back after it has been lodged and you have a CO can they?????

Anyway good luck to you all. I am sure that you will all hear soon. I just cannot wait to be at your stage, it seems quite distant at the mo, but hopefully won't take too long.:spinny: Rach.

I know what you mean Rach we submitted our qld ss application and it was signed for by them on 20th April but still waiting for acknowledgement. (Going by the wait noted on other posts on here I think it will be while before we get one!) Don't know whether or not to get the main application in to DIAC pending receipt of the ss app as almost everything is done. The other thing we are waiting on is son's new passport (I know we can fill in an amendment form afterwards but it is yet another form ). Feel a bit lost as the best thing to do really. Worried that end of June will bring changes to the goalposts and money spent may well be lost if we don't submit now.

Oh well no-one said this process was ever going to be a walk in the park !!

Our fear is when the budget is announced next week there will be something else that puts us down the pecking order after getting close so many times!!

Certainly is not a walk in the park, but will def be worth it in the end!! I too am waiting for my son's new passport. As you are apply for SS, another form I guess, you send that off then apply to the DIAC? As we are on a 175 now, due to another change!!, we just go direct to the DIAC don't we with our huge pack of evidence and letter saying please let us in!!

I don't expect to have the whole process finalised for 18months now. So have planned for that. If it comes sooner then that is a bonus and it is all finalised. Once we have the visa at least we have time to move. I just want to the DIAC submitted, then at least it is in!! It is interesting to keep an eye on peeps timelines, it gives everyone a good idea on what is really happening, or not!!

Well I just want to say fingers crossed to all of you who are waiting, I know I have many more grey hairs than I started with and sleepless nights are the norm.

We will all have to find some way of being more positive, so to everyone and positive thoughts sent across the world to WA or wherever you SS is!

Yes, I agree Rach, it is very hard when you are starting out with the process, we know all too well as my hubby had to get the AQF due to the pathway being removed and then doing the TRA and finally getting the application into the DIAC... We were very excited to be on the critical list then to be told everything has now changed and no longer on the critical list and could now be looking at anything upto a 2 yr wait, but nothing is written in stone as to how long things will take... Hence why we changed over to the 176 state sponsorship... to try and hurry the process up, although as everyone has had the same idea (and why not!) they are getting slower on giving out State sponsors now...

The whole process has been a nightmare not only for ourselves but many others as well. It is a rollercoster ride with many highs and even more lows. I just hope that one day soon we all acheive the dream we are working too!

Keep your chin up, and stay driven. Like you say you just dont know what changes they will make in June. by the way things have gone so far, no doubt we will all be facing another hurdle to jump. But if you want it to happen it will sooner or later!
