Not sure, Cath.
The generality of our caseload are offshore applications - and State Sponsored applications (subclasses 176 and 475) are moving to assessment relatively quickly at the moment.
I also know the Manager of the Brisbane Skilled Processing Centre (from her days at the ASPC) and can make enquiries of her if you get a confused reply.
Best regards.

I think the confusion is that when you call the onshore Immi number you get Adelaide and you don't speak to Brisbane at all...this is why I really felt the answer weren't correct to a few things.
The weekly email (eg last week 23rd March) said they were processing 886 with a SS up to December 15th 08 (no mention of CSL only).
It also stated on the email that if your application was decision ready and you hadn't received a case officer, to notify the department...this is why I called them, to make sure they had received the email as the address they provided was the one you use to upload documents.
When he mentioned July 1st, I told him I was surprised as I thought onshore were processed much faster than that and he said no, they all go in date order (which looking at timelines really doesn't make sense). Also, I would imagine that Brisbane would have very few CSL only applications from students, to me that would cause a massive back log.
Anyway, I am happy to sit tight and wait, I am working in the industry and doing everything right so I will just be patient and when it comes it comes.
Thanks so much for your replies.

Hi Gill
Thanks for your response. I have applied for visa 175. I wouldnt be eligible for that visa because i live in Brisbane and moving to a regional area is not an option bond on apartment, friends etc. Have you or anybody heard of anyone in this situation been granted a bridging visa to carry them through until the residency visa is granted so they could continue working? My employer is not willing to sponser. If all comes to all can i leave and come back on a holiday visa and just not work? Would immigration refuse me a visa seeing as i've been in oz for so long? I've been told by numerous people that immigration are clamping down on people coming back on holiday visas after been in oz on a working holiday visa
