State Sponsorship
Dear All,
I am planing to migrate to Australia. I have got my assessment done as Accountant (2211-11) and have got my IELTS results.
Accountants are included in CSL only with IELTS score of 7 band in each of four sections. Unfortunately I have got L=8.5, R=8, W=7, L=6.5, Overall=7.5 in my first test whereas in second attempt I got L=9, R=9, W=7, S=6, Overall=8.5. So I can't take benefit of CSL.
Now i want to apply for State Sponsorhip. I have chosen South Australia first. When I visited their site, among all other things they want a financial declaration.
Do anyone here have some knowledge about this financial declaration. I need some clarifications regarding this :
1. Whether the funds to be shown on declaration need to be with me as on date of making the declaration.
2. Would the authorities demand the proof of the funds shown in the declaration.
Thanks

Hi Sand
We have state sponsorship for WA, I worked out how much we would be taking by calculating the sale of home business and cars, minus debts. I sent a slightly inflated and now seemingly unrealistic figure. I did not have to show any proof in order to be sponsored, but a condition of sponsorship is that we take roughly the stated figure. I am not sure how the state will know how much we will have and am now hoping that it does not affect our sponsorship
I would suggest to be more realistic with your figures as I think they just need to know that you can manage financially for the first two years.
Hope this helps a little. SALT

Salt, Thanks for ur reply.
The declaration has to be attested by a notary or bank official. If i dont hv the proof then how they would attest the same....

I have been sponsored by SA on the financial form for declaration yes the funds need to be with you I.E cash in the bank, You put the value of your home and car. I got mine signed by a police officer and dont forget to get the bank to stamp it.
The Authorities will not ask for prook as the form will be signed by a public notery/police officer etc and they are classed as trust worthey people.
Hope this helps

Hi sand
Welcome to Poms in Oz.
I would suggest that you phone SA and ask them exactly what they will require from you. The reason I say this is because Andrew O'Brien is British and is therefore deemed to be an applicant from a low risk country. They might be more stringent about the sort of evidence they require when the applicant is from a high risk countrry - I don't know. Only SA could tell you what their normal practice is about this.
Best wishes
Gill

Hi Andrew
No worries, hon. I just have a suspicion that they might be more exacting when the applicant is from a high risk country, that's all. I don't know for sure, though. I just feel - instinctively - that it would be prudent for sand to phone them and find out.
Best wishes
Gill
