Relationship Evidence - Worried :(
We've filled in our main forms and got my police check and medical done... now we're worrying about the evidence for our relationship... Neither of us are hoarders and it's proving difficult. We have no notion of how much of anything to include either :( We both hate having photos taken too.
So far we have...
- Print outs of random bank statements from the last 12 months (we both bank online and they charge £10 PER SHEET for older than 12 months)
- Maybe 3 or 4 photos over the last 4 years
- Xmas / Birthday / Engagement cards... mostly not dated though :(
- Bills with one or both of our names on to the same address
- Phone bills showing he rang me lots while i was abroad (hopefully, we haven't found it yet but know it's somewhere!!)
- Form 888's from my Dad, his mum (aussie) his best mate (aussie), his ex land lady, and a couple of friends of ours
- Our personal statements (although not written yet cos no clue!!)
- Council tax bills and tv licenses for the 4 years we've been living together
- Records of flights together to spain, australia and malta
Is there anything else we should be trying to find ?
We have got a wedding invitation or two *somewhere* but we can't find them at all :(
*panics*

You should be right I reckon'. If you have bills with both your names on, you should be fine. I was under the impression the more you supply the better. I am included my personal bank statements with supermarket spends 'highlighted'. Plus the Stat Dec's of Aussie's is supposed to prove helpful too but I again have asked work mates here to do them also. The more the merrier surely.
Fingers crossed and Good Luck.

Hi furball, I think wipiskippy is right and you have enough, but at the same time I also think the more you supply the better, we also included old wedding invites. andy

Hello
OUt of curiosity, what is an 888????
Although we haven't started all the formalities of visa application yet, my partner and I are in same situation, although we've been together 5 years and have 2 kids, all our bills are in my name apart from the mortgage and we have hardly any photos and no joint bank account. How can you go about proving you are together????

888's are the "statutory declaration" forms that you are supposed to get Aussies (or others if you can't find any) to fill in to prove your relationship. I think they're "declarations" as opposed to "statutory declarations" if it's non-aussies as the stat dec thing has a particular legal significance but thats by the bye =)
It can be downloaded here: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/888.pdf and the first page is all about who should fill it in and how it should be proven. What I don't recall it saying but have read in nuerous other places it that you should also provide proof, where the person filling it in is an Aussie, that they *are* a genuine Aussie by means of a certified copy of their passport page etc...
Hope this helps =)

furball, thats loads more than we submitted we had next to nothing no bills in both names and it went through . unless its changed because that was a while ago I think we may be waiting the longest in history for our visa.... good luck x

thanks for posting this thread as it is something I'm concerned about also (proving de-facto relationship) as all our bills are in my name except the lease agreement on our rented house and the council tax. The 888 form info is much appreciated. We don't have many pics of us together either but how can that be proof as with a digital camera you can amend the date-stamp so that something would look older....
Just as a thought, this is my first posting on any forums. Not exactly a rivetting start but its a start eh?

Furball, don't panic, its ok,
have you got any joint life assurance car insurance contents insurance etc that you can show like a cover note/certificate of insurance even if an old one. any receipts for rings or jewellery that you oh may have brought you - life time gurantees for anything - club memberships - you can even use emails addressed to you both that you have received.
Good luck
stuju :-)
